Wallop is Slick But…

Wallop: Seeding a social network by ZDNet‘s Donna Bogatin — ‘Get into Wallop, make it yours!’ is the exhortation of the Wallop social networking site, but it is not necessarily easy to ‘get into Wallop.’ I spoke with Wallop’s CEO about how the new site aims to gain traction in a crowded, MySpace dominated, online social networking world.

  1. I read Donna’s post, and the challenge remains with Microsoft and Wallop in particular is the focus is on the technology. The other thing that is troubling is that the audience they seek–creatives, with large networks is fairly myopic, to be sure.

    This is another great illustration how MS continues to lack relevance and utility for regular people. Then again, maybe that is the point, Wallop is not for regular people–only those cool and slick enough to be invited.
